For cone 6 stoneware firing
Tie-Dye Glazes offer remarkable versatility through varied thick and thin application. Like our sculptural glazes, they are reactive and interactive with both your clay body and other glazes. Texture brings out the best in these surfaces, revealing movement, variation, and depth that continue to surprise after firing.
Satin Glazes fire to smooth, luscious surfaces and include two speckled options for added visual interest. All 12 colors can be mixed and layered to create custom shades and tonal variations. These glazes pair especially well with our Interactive Pigment Glazes and, like our gloss glazes, are food safe when fired correctly.
Firing & Safety Notes
All of these glazes are nontoxic. However, not all surfaces are food safe, as some Tie-Dye glazes can develop dry or breaking textures after firing. We recommend using textured or matte surfaces on exterior areas only when food safety is a concern.
Recommended firing schedule:
- Bisque fire to cone 04
- Glaze fire to cone 6, medium speed
- Kiln ventilation recommended for all firings
