Ceramic Supply Shipping, Delivery & Freight

Whether your order ships in a small box, goes out on a pallet, or is delivered locally, we’re committed to getting it to you safely and as cost-effectively as possible. Below is an overview of how our shipping and freight processes work, what to expect with delivery, and how to plan for larger orders.

Shipping Under 150 Pounds

Orders under 150 lbs typically ship via UPS or USPS, depending on what is most efficient for your order.

How shipping is calculated

  • We pull and pack your order – Your items are boxed, weighed, measured, and prepared for shipment.
  • We compare carrier rates – We check current UPS and USPS rates and select the most cost-effective option. Your final shipping cost is added to your invoice.
  • Your card is charged only after – Your order is packed; the exact shipping cost is determined; and any applicable discounts are applied for your order.

If you ever want a shipping estimate before placing an order, just give us a call — we’re always happy to help.

Tracking your shipment

Monday, Wednesday & Friday Tracking emails come from: noreply@freightpop.com (If you don’t see it, check spam/junk.)

Local Delivery

Local delivery may be available depending on your location and timing. Delivery fees vary by distance and schedule, and availability depends on our weekly delivery routes.

If you need a delivery instead of shipping: Call 503-283-1353, and we’ll walk through your options.

Address Accuracy (Important for All Shipments)

UPS and other carriers charge fees for address corrections. Currently, UPS charges $17.30 for this service.

Please double-check your shipping address before submitting your order so we can avoid unnecessary delays and fees.

International Shipping

Due to high instances of credit card fraud, we are not currently able to ship directly outside North America. Exceptions may be made for:

  • Prepaid orders via bank wire transfer, and
  • Orders shipped to a freight forwarder within North America

If this applies to you, please contact us before placing your order.

Shipping over 150 pounds (Freight)

Orders over 150 lbs ship by freight truck. We work with a variety of regional and national carriers to secure the best rate available — but please know freight costs are determined entirely by the carrier.

Important freight notes

  • Freight costs depend on weight, distance, fuel rates, and carrier surcharges
  • Freight pricing can add significantly to your order
  • We do not mark up freight or add percentage-based handling fees
  • The price on your initial invoice may change if freight adjustments occur

Residential vs. commercial

Even if you run a business from your home, freight carriers classify home addresses as residential deliveries, which include additional carrier fees.

Curbside delivery

Freight is door-to-door, which typically means:

  • Delivery to the end of your driveway, loading dock, or curb.
  • The driver will unload, but they are not required to move items inside, up hills, down long driveways, or around obstacles.

Special requests (such as inside delivery, difficult access, or special handling) can incur $75–$350+ in additional carrier charges.

Pallet fees

If your order ships on a pallet, your invoice will include:

  • $15.00 pallet fee
  • $4.00 shrink-wrap fee

These cover our cost for materials and preparation. We do not add any markup.

Getting the best freight rate

Larger shipments are more cost-effective when combined.

Example:
Several artists combining orders into a shared 1,000-pound shipment will usually receive a much better rate per pound than one artist shipping 250 pounds alone.

If you’d like help coordinating a combined order for your area, we’re happy to offer guidance.

Shipment Damage or Loss

Every order leaves our store in good condition. If your shipment arrives damaged, please do the following immediately:

  1. Inspect all boxes before signing the delivery receipt
  2. Note visible damage and have the driver sign to acknowledge
  3. Open boxes to check for concealed damage
  4. Save all packing materials
  5. Contact us as soon as possible: 503-283-1353

We will help guide the claim process with UPS or the freight carrier, but the first responsibility is with the receiver.

When Glaze Jars Attack (Leaks & Spills)

Occasionally a glaze jar may open during transit even if the box shows no exterior damage.

If this happens:

  • Take photos of the box and product
  • Save all packaging
  • Contact us right away

We know it’s disappointing — and we’ll work quickly to make it right.
