Why are some tools listed in multiple categories?
Tools are listed in multiple categories so you can find them depending on what route you take on the website. Some pages show different tools so you may find something else you like on a different page.
Do you carry replacement parts for tools?
If a tool has a replacement part, we more than likely carry it. If we don’t, we can special order it for you.
How do I register for a class?
Please call 503-283-1353 to register. There is no online registration, although you can view available classes here.
Do classes fill quickly?
Some classes fill quickly, while others may take a few days. If you know you are wanting to take a class, we recommend calling sooner than later so you can get into the class you are wanting.
Do you offer waitlists?
We do have waitlists! We go in order off the waitlist when a spot becomes available.
What should I bring to class?
Every class is different and will indicate what you need to bring. If you have questions, please e-mail classes@georgies.com before your class.
Can I cancel or reschedule a class?
Each class will indicate the cancellation/reschedule policy.
Do you offer private lessons?
We do not offer private lessons.
Do you offer youth classes?
We currently do not offer youth classes.
Do you offer open studio time outside of class?
Open studio times are available for class members for the duration of the class term and a link is sent to sign up the Sunday before each week. There is no open studio available to the public.
Do you offer open studio time to the public?
We do not offer studio opening hours to the public.
How do I submit an event to the community bulletin board?
Please go to the community bulletin board and submit your inquiry there.
How do I list used equipment for sale?
Please go to the used equipment page and submit your piece of equipment.
What is your return policy?
We will gladly accept items for return that HAVE NOT BEEN OPENED OR USED within 60 days of purchase with your proof of purchase Some items are excluded, including many raw material items & kiln shelves. No refunds, exchanges, or credit given for clay that is over 3 months old. Used or damaged items are not accepted for return, exchange, or credit. Returns may be subject to a restocking charge. All returns must have proof of purchase (paper receipt or history in our system by phone number)
Are glaze or clay purchases returnable?
All unopened glaze and clay has a 60 day return policy.
Can I return equipment?
Equipment can be returned on a case by case scenario with a restock fee.
Can I return kiln shelves?
Kiln shelves are not returnable. Please examine them for any defects BEFORE loading into your vehicle. Report defects immediately. Should a manufacturing defect appear after usage, you must report it within 60 days with proof of purchase. Replacement eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis. We do not offer exchanges if you purchased the wrong size. What if my order arrives damaged?
It unfortunately is a reality that happens. Please take pictures & contact us within 10 days of receiving the product – call 503-283-1353 or e-mail orders@georgies.com. We will need and ask for pictures to file a claim. Please have your name, phone number and invoice number ready so that we can quickly get this taken care of and get a replacement out for you.
What if I received the wrong item?

How do I upload or attach a PO?
You can upload your PO right to your order online on the payment screen OR on an e-mail with your order/quote.

Which ribs should I start with?
Ribs are great for shaping and smoothing. A flexible rib is better for smoothing a surface while a wood rib is better for shaping. There are also ribs that makes cylinders turn to shapes and ribs that give texture to bots. It’s fun to try new ribs, but starting with a basic wood, metal or rubber rib is a good idea.
How do I choose the right basic toolkit?
The basic tools needed for throwing or handbuilding are: rib (metal, wood, or rubber), needle tool, sponge, wire cutter, fettling knife. Most tool kits will have these starter tools in them.

How do I choose a trimming tool?
Trimming tools should be sharp! A dull tool will not cut through the grog/sandiness of the clay.
